Char Dham- the four pilgrimages of faith and belief
Char Dham is the name of four important holy places. Gangotri, Yamnotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are those four pilgrimages. They all are situated in Uttarakhand.
These all Char Dham are located in the lap of Mother Nature. These four dham are located on the hilly areas and surrounded by Himalayan Mountain range. The ‘Char Dham’ means four holy places or pilgrimages. Every year lots of devotees visit here and wash their sins. Char Dham is the prime center attraction for tourists. This Yatra starts from last week of April to last week of October.
Chardham Yatra starts from Yamnotri, covered by mountains and forests. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. According to Indian mythology Yamuna is the sister of Yamraj (God of Death). The popular attraction of Yamnotri is Surya Kund, Divya Shila, Sapatrishi Kund Etc.
Gangotri is the second holy destination of Char Dham Yatra and the home of River Ganga. It is situated in District Uttarkashi. Gaumukh is the place from where Ganga is Originates. This place is 14 kilometers far from Gangotri. The attractions of Gangotri are: – Gaumukh glacier, Gangotri temple and submerged Shivling.
Kedarnathji Tour: – This is the third holy destination which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated on the top of River Mandakini. Kedarnath is one of the 12 ‘Jyotrilings’ of Lord Shiva. The famous attractions of this sacred place are- Gaurikund, Kedarnath temple, Chandrashila , Deoria Tal and many more religious places are located near this holy destination.
Finally, the visit comes to its last step at Sri Badrinath Ji. It is located on the bank of river Alaknanda. This sacred temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to Indian mythology Lord Vishnu is operates the whole World. The word Badri means Berries liked by Goddess Laxmi. Devotees are found their 15 idols. The attractions of Sri BadrinathJi are- Tapt Kund, Brahma Kapal, Sheshnetra, Charanpaduka, Neelkanth Etc.
Char Dham Yatra is the sacred Journey of 4 holy Destination. According to Hindu mythology must do this Yatra once a lifetime. It makes feel you happy. It is important for devotes that they booking Char Dham Yatra first and avoid last minute problem.
